Quartz of Course!
Quartz is an engineered stone made out of 90% ground quartz and 10% stone chips, resins, polymers and pigments. Given that quartz is such a hard material, it is going to be more durable than a granite or marble choice. Quartz is highly durable as it is resistant to heat, scratches, and even water absorption.
Another factor that makes quartz so appealing is that it is non-porous. Spills and watermarks are not going to harm quartz. Unlike other natural stone options that are porous and require 3- to 5-year resealing maintenance, quartz does not require a sealing. Even more importantly, non-porous means bacteria free!
Quartz is often confused with quartzite, but quartz has several advantages over quartzite. Quartz is produced from synthetic material, while quartzite is natural stone made from quartz rich sandstone. Being a natural stone it is porous which makes it susceptible to staining. Quartzite requires a stone sealer, and has a 2-year resealing maintenance.
Choosing quartz as a product is a sure win-win. The durability and carefree maintenance of quartz is sure to bring your home all the joy and beauty you could hope for.
