How much does it cost to install hardwood flooring?

$14.50 per square foot for Muller Graff’s Fort de France Collection installed. This is one of the lowest priced products in Muller Graff’s beautiful flooring line made of 100% wood. Keep in mind that this is the installed price that Saddleback Carpet & Flooring displays for a standard application. When shopping for flooring we suggest that you have us out for a free measure and consultation so we can tell you if your floor requires additional work to bring it up to standard. All the products in our showroom are displayed with the installed price so you can quickly know roughly what your new floor will cost.

The Noyer Highlands Collection features spectacular premium hardwood grains in several different colors. Shown here is the color Germain in a herring bone pattern. Each plank has a subtle micro-bevel and has a brush texture to bring out the grain.

Why is there wide price variation in flooring?

When shopping for hardwood it is common to see prices on the material alone which is typically low compared to the installed price. Because there is variation in recommended installation methods for different hardwood products, we think it is better to display the installed price rather than the material price so our customers can quickly see what it will cost to get new flooring. For instance, a hardwood floor that requires a glued-down application will generally cost more than a click-and-lock hardwood even though the material price is lower.

What is an Example of High-Quality Hardwood Flooring?

Muller Graff is a German flooring manufacturer that started 150 years ago. They are a company with a great reputation for precision and product innovation. They take pride in their 100% real wood planks. Engineered with a triple-layered structure, Muller Graff planks are stable and resistant to changes that can affect hardwood. Moisture in the air can cause slight movement in the width of the wood, this natural process is stabilized in several ways. The surface layer is made of selected European or exotic wood of optimal thickness and protected by a lacquer or oil finish. There are also up to 7 layers of UV-hardened acrylic lacquer or a system of UV/natural oil. The middle layer is made from coniferous wood and is turned 90 degrees from the grain direction on the surface layer to limit the natural movement of wood. This feature helps to minimize gaps, cracks, and squeaking. The strength of the middle layer assures that the Joint Barclick mechanism will make the joints strong and enable multiple installation methods including floating the floor. Floating a floor makes future repairs or additions much easier. The bottom layer is also coniferous wood with the grain turned 90 degrees to add stability to the plank. This engineered wood construction is excellent for installation over floor heating and cooling systems. The Quick Joint 5GC system used to join the planks provides the ability to remove and reinstall the flooring if needed for maintenance under the floor.

Is Hardwood Flooring Sustainable?

Sustainability is very important to Muller Graff. 100% of the wood that goes into the factory is used. Even the sawdust is gathered and compressed into pellets for heating and fireplace briquettes. Gardening products are made from the outer layers of bark. The forests are managed so that harvesting lumber has minimal environmental impact and new trees are nurtured to ensure the future vitality of the resource.

Why is Wood Good for Nature?

The ecological advantages of real wood as a floor are undeniable. Far less energy is used in the extraction, processing and disposal of wood than with any other building material. As the popularity of real wood floors is increasing, so has the commitment to growing wood. More trees are currently being planted than harvested.
